Today I attended the Snapdragon Zine Fair!
And what a lovely event it was, with all the little DIY treasures you could ever want. Dozens and dozens of them laid out across long trestle tables in the Red Rattler. I came home with armfuls of goodies, including spoils from inside the zine-ata. Yes! A giant dragon shaped pinata full of mini-zines, glue sticks and pins.

In high school I started a zine distribution organisation with my friend Amelia (is a successful rock star and designer now). It was called Vox Populis and we had a catalogue of zines that were mailed around Australia with hand-made, hand packed love. That was before Facebook, Youtube & blogs.
Things were different then.
Nonetheless zines are alive and well! Next up is the ever popular Zine Fair at This Is Not Art Festival in Newcastle. See you then!
