The spectacular landscaped gardens and Spanish inspired art deco manor at Leura Everglades are special at the best of times. Down winding paths, past waterfalls and pools are many picturesque spots from which you can view a pristine valley and bushland, lush and draped in ferns.
But if you were to visit the Blue Mountains in the next couple of weeks, make your visit even more special by catching a twilight session of Macbeth or the Taming of the Shrew performed in the manicured outdoor theatre. The Shakespeare productions by Sport for Jove are fantastic, both early twentieth century period pieces with costumes to die for.
Speaking of death, I was lucky enough to see Macbeth on Friday the thirteenth (oooohh…spooky!). Its a marvelous production of my favourite Shakespeare play and well worth the trip to see it in such a beautiful location, with live crowing birds and amazing sunset. There’s also a couple of shows at the Norman Lindsey gallery, which is another wonderful spot and promises to be just as good!
