Its a small world, especially in Sydney and even more so in Marrickville.
This weekend you can catch me performing everyone’s favourite scallywag, ‘Old Mate’, roving around with Umbrella Theatre at Young Henry’s ‘Small World Street Festival’. These guys have been making serious waves with their micro/craft brewery, small bar and events. Their cloudy apple cider is something special and their range of Newtown local beers are very popular and can now be found on tap in many fine establishments.
The street party is set in a cute little Marrickville back street and features live music, live street art, performances and a focus on fine food. All the usual suspects will be there, Bloodwood, Cornersmith & Porteno. I’m salivating in anticipation.
There’s some pretty funky fun tunes as well, with The Snowdroppers, True Vibenation & Richard In Your Mind being my top picks.
Tickets are $59 for the whole day and its bound to be 3 times more chilled out and friendly than the Big Day Out at a quarter of the price.
