Some people believe that Iceland is a magical faraway place, inhabited by whimsical pixie like creatures, such as Bjork, and moomintrolls. Well, those people are correct. Despite what Icelanders say, their country is an otherworldly place full of mythical creatures and wonder. This pretty mural I passed in Reykjavik actually sparkled!
Biplane Mural in Ghent, Belgium
I happened across this super-cute biplane mural on Kanunnikstraat in Ghent, Belgium. Surrounded by a magpie sculpture, parachutist, and odds and ends, it really brightened up the street, and my day!

Epic Mural in Leipzig, Germany
Though Leipzig is an extremely beautiful and charming city, there are so many nooks and crannies in East Germany that still have an eerie, lost atmosphere. This giant mural on an empty street in Leipzig caused me to pause and stare awhile. At first glance its a cute children’s artwork but definitely pretty creepy. I’ve added the second photo for …
Newcastle UV Street Art
Check out this wicked piece of street art I discovered just off Hunter Street Mall while running through the rain with a broken umbrella in Newcastle. I had passed it unknowingly by day and it appeared to be a rather unremarkable design of old film stars along a disused building. However by night the secret street art was revealed! Under …
Yarn Graffiti in Amsterdam, Holland

It was perched right there above the ‘Homomonument’ which I can only suppose is a tribute to the world’s homosexuals. For those of you in Sydney, there are a number of wool based installations around the city at the moment for the annual …

Space Invaders in Barcelona, Spain
If you are walking along the street and you take the time to look up, down or around, you might just notice a little tiled space invader mosaic. This isn’t a retro initiative spearheaded by some hip council member. It’s a funny little street art phenomena that I have started to notice more and more. Rumour has it that the …
Street Art and Riots in Athens, Greece
I happened to be traveling to Athens in July this year and the atmosphere was electric. I was able to capture some of the spirit of the place; and the art that was a part of the revolt against the government and their approach to the current economic situation.
